When you are serious about examining history, as you would be if you were confronted with a real edged sword, you realize that we have learned little from history.
At the same time, the more serious you are about it, the more you realize that “the people around you who think they are adults do not face the historical events themselves in a straightforward manner, putting ‘here and now and me’ in parentheses, and are bound only by their own previous rules of thumb and knowledge. It is not only makes me really lonely, but it is also that they are tied to their own previous experience and knowledge.
Godai learned Confucianism from his parents at an early age and was trained in the Zogen School, learned Dutch and English from a Dutch teacher at the Nagasaki Mission School, and learnt about the source of capitalism and its limits. Haruma Miura came to the same realisation br playing the role of Tomoatsu Godai.
Godai cut his topknot the symbol of the samurai and reached out beyond the restriction to the clan to realize Haru’s dream.
What was Haru’s dream? It was not about money, it was about “watching the ocean” on earth that surpasses life.
After watching “Tengaramon” by Haruma Miura, I would like to seriously discuss with you the meaning of watching the sea, especially its philosophical meaning, after watching the movie “Tengaija” by Haruma Miura.
Believe that the way of life as an adult will be activated from there.
