About Flood Damage

The other day I wrote that the corona was a counterattack by plants and animals against man’s self-assessment of himself as Homo sapiens (wise), the spiritual leader of all things and the overlord of plants and animals. Polytheism began when humans promised eternal dedication to the gods in exchange for control
 of flora and fauna.

How should we perceive the floods in Kuma Hitoyoshi?

Have we forgotten the feeling of gratitude for being alive by being close to nature and receiving the blessings of nature?

Although we talk about coexistence with nature, haven’t you lived your life thinking only  about making money?

This time, the sweet shop in Kokonokamachi,the cafe SweetPea in Kami-aoi were flooded, but the water factory in Yamae, which is located next to a river, was spared.

Is it because the factory had enshrined the Water God? Was it because the preast of Aoi Shrine Mr. Fukukawa had made monthly visits?

No, that’s not it at all. This is the result of the collective wisdom of our predecessors in agricultural engineering.
